Please follow the instructions below for upgrading the firmware on your sensorProbe+
base unit which includes all versions of the AKCP SP2+ and SPX+ units.

!!! IMPORTANT !!!

These new firmware update files support both the F7 SP+ & the H7 SP+ processors or as we will refer to them as platforms. The new H7 processors or platform support more memory and faster CPU on the SP+ (SP2+ and SPX+) units.

There are two separate .bin files included in the firmware update package. One for the F7 units and one for the H7 units. The .bin file for the F7 units is named spplus_f7-1.0.*.bin and the .bin file for the H7 units is named spplus_h7-1.0.*.bin. If you try to upgrade your unit with the wrong .bin file, the firmware upgrade will fail, so please make sure you use the correct file for your unit type.

In the SP+ units web UI You will be able to view which platform the unit is using. This can be checked in the Settings >> General page >> System Description. And in the Settings >> About page >> System Description.

We will still provide support for the F7 platform that require fixes and minor features, however no new major features will be added. All new large feature additions and new future sensors & personality cards (modules on the SPX+) will only be supported on the H7 platform.

The backup configuration you have created on the F7 platform can be uploaded to the H7 platform units, but only with a matching hardware configuration (such as SP2+ to SP2+, but not SP2+ to SPX+).

FIRMWARE UPGRADE STEPS:

Download the SP+ firmware the support web site. Extract the .zip file in your computer.

Go to the Settings page then >> Maintenance >> System Firmware Upgrade

Click on the "Upgrade" button, this will take you to the next screen, click on the
"Choose file" button then browse to the spplus-X.X.XXX.bin (the X's represent the
firmware version). Then click the "Upgrade" button. Again, please remember to choose the correct .bin file for your unit type (F7 or H7 platform).

Note: If you were having problems with the unit and have already made a backup copy
of your configuration, then you can try re-setting the unit back to the factory
default settings using the reset button (see SP+ introduction manual and below).

You will then see "Upgrading" screen which will display the upgrade process.

When the unit finishes updating, it will boot back to normal mode and the web
interface will refresh back to normal after roughly 3 minutes.

You can check to be sure the unit has been upgraded by checking the version on the
lower right hand corner of the unit after clicking the "Refresh" button.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Please first check our sensorProbe+ Knowledge Base on our website:
https://www.akcp.com/knowledge-base/sensorprobe-plus-series-knowledge-base/

The default factory IP address of your unit will always be 192.168.0.100.

If you cannot connect to your SP+ web UI
Are you able to PING the default or re-assigned IP address?
Try disabling the Windows firewall and Antivirus on the computer you are trying to access the unit from. Also, try using the FireFox browser to access the web UI and also check to make sure the Ethernet link LED is lit when the CAT5/6 patch cable is connected. You can also try connecting the unit directly to your laptop or PC using the yellow cross over cable.
Verify whether you are trying to connect via HTTP or HTTPS (either can be disabled on the device) or use the correct port if it was changed to a custom one.

If you do not know the IP address of the SP+ unit you can use our LCD sensor, just connect it to a sensor port and reboot the unit. Or use our
LinuxIPSet utility, version 6.0.0 or higher.
To obtain the IP address and open the units web UI, run the LinuxIPSet on your PC or
laptop then press the reset on the SP+ unit once (see below).
You can download the LinuxIPSet from this link:
http://www.akcp.in.th/downloads/Firmwares/lnuxIPSet6.0.0.zip Or from the Utilities
section on the SP+ firmware upgrade page.

This Reset button performs the following functions:-
Press or hold less than 3 seconds = announces the units IP address to LinuxIPSet
Press and hold 3 to 7 seconds = Reboot and announces the units IP address to LinuxIPSet.
Press and hold 7 to 12 seconds = Reset the login password on the unit.
Press and hold 12 to 17 seconds = Serial flash erase (DB erase without factory
reset, the system configuration is kept)
Press and hold 17 to 22 seconds = Reset to factory defaults (serial flash erase
+ config erase)
Press and hold 22 to 25 seconds = Network IP reset (DHCP enabled, 192.168.0.100/255.255.255.0/192.168.0.1 static IP in case of no DHCP server)

If you still have a problem with the upgrade or the unit please contact AKCP
support at support@akcp.com and also include the "support file" by clicking
on the "DOWNLOAD" button in the Send Configuration To Support section.
Download this file then send it as an attachment. IMPORTANT NOTE:
NOT THIS FILE: "Backup All Settings To Backup File" as this file does not
include the internal logs.
